Bills Bills Bills: Don't Miss One Again

It can feel like we have an overwhelming amount of bills every month. After all, we need to pay for things like car insurance, electric, and phones bills which all add up. And it’s so easy to end up missing one or two payments. If you do, you will find the interest will add up quickly. In fact, it can soon make the payments out of your budget. However, missing bills doesn’t have to be a reality. In fact, here are some ways you can ensure you don’t miss your bills to keep in good financial standing.

Always set up a direct debit

A lot of people don’t like to set up direct debits with their bill providers. After all, they feel like they are losing some control over their money in their account. And they worry about how much the provider take every month. But there are some benefits to having a direct debit set up. For one thing, it means you don’t have to worry about taking the time to pay your bill. After all, a lot of people end up heading down the road to debt as they innocently forgot to make the payment. And it means the money will always go to the supplier, even if it means you get into debit with your bank. After all, you would rather owe your bank than pay the huge interest rates with the supplier! Therefore, call and set up a direct debit to ensure you don’t miss a payment again.

Put money aside for bills

It’s easy to just spend as you like from your account. After all, you promise you will put money aside for the bills. But then a lot of people find they don’t have enough when it comes to the day to pay the bills. And then they have to resort to getting a short term loan to ensure they don’t get into debt. However, this doesn’t have to be the case if you always put the money aside for the bills as soon as you get paid. That way, you can’t spend this money accidentally before it’s time to pay the bills. Some people even like to set up an account which is purely to keep money for bills. That way, there is no chance at all of them spending the money!

Get rid of any unnecessary bills

A lot of us are paying out a small fortune for bills. But you need to look at your bills and work out if any could make the cut. After all, there might be some non-essentials which could be removed, so it’s easier to pay the rest of the bills. For example, that gym membership could be closed. You can just workout and exercise at home instead of spending a fortune on this bill a month. And you might want to buy a phone rather than having to pay out for one monthly. After all, this could end up saving you hundreds if you just opt for a cheap phone which still ticks all the boxes!

And remember to keep your credit card payments to a minimum. Otherwise, it can be hard to keep on top of paying these every month.
